My heart overflows with gratitude daily. I want to say a special thank you for visiting my little space on the Internet.
I posted this on my Instagram and on my Facebook, but the experience was so meaningful to me that I also wanted it published here.
November 20, 2018
It’s crazy how a little sprinkle of Disney magic happens in the middle of an ordinary day. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a little stressed these past few weeks.
Last night I randomly got to meet Irene Bedard, the voice of Pocahontas, at the premier showing of Ralph Breaks the Internet! I bought our movie tickets 🎫 the first day they were sold. When Sean, Keith, and I walked into the theater we thought we walked into the wrong one because all of the lights were on. We got to our assigned seats and found cards and goody bags and then I started checking our tickets again to make sure we were in the right spot. Irene came to introduce herself and told us she bought the whole theater! She wanted us to feel included in her party! 🎉 Irene has such a kind and beautiful soul. 🥰
This little dose of Disney magic happened right when I needed it most. I’m so grateful! These little autographed Pocahontas cards were like stepping into my childhood – I remember collecting them! Lastly, Ralph Breaks the Internet was AMAZING! As someone that works in the telecommunications industry, it made me geek out hard. 😂 It’s one of my favorite movies of 2018. 🎥🍿Let me know what you think when you go see it! 🤗
I recently upgraded from an Apple iPhone 7 to a XS! I LOVE IT! At first I was concerned that I wouldn’t like the fact that there is no longer a “home button,” but I got used to it quickly. I love how much larger the screen seems since there is no button at the bottom anymore. It was a breeze configuring everything from my old phone to my new phone. The only thing I don’t like about the XS is that the battery percentage isn’t viewable on the top right corner anymore. You have to swipe down to see the percentage. It’s a minor annoyance, really.
My brother got me this awesome shell case by Mous. If you haven’t seen this phone case in action, check out this YouTube review.
2018 is the year of lipstick obsession for me. Warm Leatherette is described as a rich berry pink and Starwoman is described as a vivid blue red. The formula is liquidy, but it dries quickly. I had to get used to the applicator because it’s small, but now that I’m used to it and I love it because I can apply it with precision.
Super Orgasm is described as peachy pink with gold glitter… I freakin’ love it! I also have Orgasm. It’s a peachy pink with shimmer. I am more of a glitter kind of gal so Super Orgasm is my favorite of the two!
Ulta recently started selling Kylie Cosmetics. The cool thing is that Kylie’s lip kits and other select lip products are at EVERY SINGLE ULTA! So even our stores in Anchorage, Alaska got them! It feels good to feel included because we generally don’t get those products. For example, our stores up here don’t have a ColourPop section.
I’ve been curious about Kylie’s lip products, but I assumed that they’d be the exact same as ColourPop (since their parent company is the same). I decided to give it a shot and bought Head Over Heels. It’s described on her website as a deep plum, but on me it looks like the perfect dark mauve. I LOVE HOW IT SMELLS! Kylie lip products smell like the 90s to me. They smell like strawberry or cherry Lipsmackers – yum! I’m also really impressed with the longevity and array of color options. I’m officially hooked!
I freaked out when I saw these mini backpacks on Typo Shop’s Instagram account! I ordered this in both red and black. I also got the crossbody purse versions. A year ago, Disney and Coach had a collaboration. I was bummed that I missed out on it, but then these came out! I love them. Perfect way to add Disney to my everyday style.
I unfortunately have flat feet, and these are hands down the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned. I especially love the pearl pink color. I can’t wait to see how they’ll fare next month at Walt Disney World!
I am blessed with straight Asian hair… AKA I let my hair air dry and it dries stick straight. It’s both a blessing and a curse. I made a mini goal a few weeks ago to try to style my hair more often. I used to curl my hair from time to time using a regular curling iron, but the curls never lasted and it would take me forever to curl. I’ve seen curling wands before, but I didn’t think they would be any different than a regular curling iron. Boy, was I wrong! It’s so easy to do my hair with my Bed Head curling wand and the curls last all day. It only takes about 12 minutes to do my hair.
I’ve discovered a lot of new favorites lately, so I thought it would be fun to do a blog post dedicated to them.
Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick, $24, Sephora
My favorite colors are Big Spender (a rose color, pictured above) and Bawse (a deep red). This lipstick is so comfortable to wear that sometimes I forget I’m even wearing anything. It isn’t transferproof, but it is long wearing. I put on my lipstick at 6:45 am and I wear it until 5 pm, sometimes even several hours past that. I only have to do a quick touch up after lunch. It also did great in summer Colorado heat.
This is another one of my favorite lip brands. It’s more liquidy than Smashbox Always On, but it dries quickly and it’s also long-lasting and comfortable to wear. It has a yummy smell, almost like vanilla. I really like Trophy Wife, Icon, and Heartbreaker.
Okay, can you tell that I have a big thing for lippies?! ColourPop is one of my favorite makeup brands overall. All of their products are highly pigmented and priced beautifully. The Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks are amazing. My favorite colors are Dopey, The Rabbit, Ambush, and Redman.
I am obsessed with highlighters, especially the ones by ColourPop. One of my favorite colors is Over The Moon (Described on the website as “The cow jumped over the moon to find this sheer opalescent pearl with hot pink and violet glitters”). I feel like a mermaid or a unicorn when I wear it!
Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Large Crossbody, $148, Macy’s
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect crossbody and I finally found it! I don’t really use big purses anymore and I like being hands free. Most of my purses are handbags and shoulder bags. I was looking for a quality purse that wasn’t too big and wasn’t too small. I made it my mission to find one in Colorado earlier this month.
I’m more of a Kate Spade kind of gal and I was bummed that I didn’t find one that I liked at the outlet. I also looked around Coach, but I didn’t find a crossbody there either. I did find the latest Disney collection there though… So that was a win!
I haven’t been really into Michael Kors the past few years, but I felt the urge to pop in their store and look around. When I saw this black crossbody purse I knew it was the one! Since it was at the outlet I was able to snag it for $93 with taxes.
I’ve been using it everyday since I got back from vacation and it’s held up nicely. I love it so much that I also ordered the blush pink color.
I blame my sister, Jennifer, for getting me hooked on this brand! I just got my first one a few days ago, and I’m already obsessed. They come in a variety of colors and I decided to go with all black. I chose this color because black goes with everything and I love how it looks tactical. This backpack is made with all recycled material and has thoughtfully placed pockets. The bag looks small, but it can carry a lot. I really like the handles at the top and the removable “pad” that’s stored inside. I’m sure you’re like, “huh?! Why is there a foam pad in there?” You can take it out of the bag and sit on it. It’s genius. Sounds way more comfortable to sit on a foam pad than on concrete while watching Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, haha. I’m so excited for my new travel bag!
I eventually want to get another color, maybe a Mini size. The color Slate (a dark grey) is calling my name!
Shooter (TV series) on USA Network
I love this show. I rarely ever rewatch series (that aren’t sitcoms), but this series is that damn good! The cast is phenomenal. It’s about an ex-Marine sniper (Ryan Philippe) that was framed for trying to kill the president. You may even remember that there was a movie called Shooter starring Mark Wahlburg starring in 2007. I finally watched the movie this month! It was really cool to see the similarities and differences between the movie and the first season of the show. There’s also a novel called “Point of Impact” by Stephen Hunter that the movie and series originated from.
Watch Seasons 1 and 2 now on Netflix. Season 3 just started and the season premiere episode was crazy!
2017 – Thank you for being so good to me! Here are some of my favorite highlights:
I turned 30 in January.
Hello 30. It was my best birthday month ever!
I had a fun party with my closest friends and family. Everything was pink, gold, and oh so sparkly!
We went to Disney World. We stayed at the BoardWalk and the Wilderness Lodge. We got to ride on Soarin’ Around the World and Frozen Ever After for the first time. We went during The Festival of Arts and I got to meet my favorite artist, Noah, and Sean even got me a signed print! We also saw Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland perform.
We sailed on the Disney Magic and officially fulfilled one of our goals – sail on all 4 Disney Cruise Line ships. It was so MAGICal to sail on the first ever Disney ship. The shows on this ship were my favorite: Twice Charmed, Tangled, and Disney Dream – An Enchanted Classic were all so dreamy. We even got a cabana on Castaway Cay.
I earned my associate degree in Business Administration from American Public University in September.
I began a Visual Communications certificate from APUS.
I finally learned how to use Photoshop and Illustrator! Right now I’m taking a web development class where I’m learning how to write HTML codes manually. I just need 3 more classes to complete after the end of January.
Sean and I celebrated 6 years of marriage (and 9 years of togetherness) in November.
We ate dinner at Simon & Seaforts, watched Daddy’s Home 2, and stayed in Alyeska for a night.
I started the keto diet in November.
It’s been an awesome lifestyle change!
Other 2017 Highlights
We built a fence. It’s nice to not worry about our dog, Lucy, running off. It’s also really nice to enjoy some privacy.
I got to go to Juneau for a quick work trip.
My family bought us a new grill, a firepit, and adirondak chairs.
I celebrated 10 years working at my company.
Sean and I went on a fancy date to Seven Glaciers at Alyeska Resort.
I love our home so much! It’s been so much fun decorating seasonally. I love coming home to our little paradise and just relax.
My Instagram account exploded! I mean that in a good way. One of my Disney Cruise pictures made it to the official Disney Cruise Line Instagram account. Several of my home pictures have also made it to one of my favorite accounts, Disney_at_Home. It has been really awesome to connect with Disney fans all over the world!
I finally learned how to use my pressure cooker. It quickly turned into one of my favorite kitchen appliances. Another favorite kitchen gadget purchase is a mini raclette! I LOVE CHEESE. I’ve lost count how many times we’ve used in and I eventually want to get a full size version.
We had several houses guests! I love that we have lots of room to be able to accommodate our visitors.
We saw a lot of good movies this year – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Coco, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Jumanji were my favorites.
Again – thank you, 2017, for all the awesome memories.
